Utilizing social media can sometimes be the answer to these unchanging problems that seemed hopeless to us. A sweet little puppy named Speck had been waiting for a loving person to take him home and give him all the love he needed for a year and a half in an abandoned animal shelter in the state of Alabama (USA).
Every time someone passed by his cage, the dog would stand up with his muzzle in the middle of the bars and extend his small paw in greeting. Everyone stopped to “shake his paw” and give him two hugs.

Desiray Miracle-Wilder, director of the Bullock County Humane Society, noted that it was virtually impossible to avoid saying hello to this adorable and kind-hearted little puppy. Desiray decided to take a picture of this peculiar situation with his phone one day, possibly when he was feeling particularly creative.

Speck peers through his cage’s bars as he uses his tiny paw to make contact with the shelter’s director. The video managed to reach Speck’s future family as well as hundreds of other internet users.

Although Speck had suffered in his life before arriving at the shelter, the wounds on his muzzle had no effect on his gentle and pleasant disposition. Instead, the small dog remained incredibly trusting of people and his only concern was touching someone’s heart.

Allie’s Hope For Paws Dog Rescue was alerted to this heartwarming video and connected Speck’s shelter with the future family. Speck’s adoption requests undoubtedly poured in as soon as the video was released. The little puppy can now merrily run around a farm with Mike’s family and two other canine friends!
